LEEDS WEST INDIAN CARNIVAL BY CHAPELTOWN
I am a photographer based in Leeds and foremost I belong to the Chapeltown district. It is a multicultural area in north Leeds which has a large West Indian community who have celebrated the Leeds Carnival since 1967.
I have posted a set images of colourful costumes from Leeds Carnival which should convey the rhythmic steel pan and soca music, the arts and crafts, and the cuisine of the Caribbean. I hope this reportage has captured for you the atmosphere of the parade and Caribbean music around Potternewton Park.
